Merry Christmas!

It's been a wonderful few days celebrating Christmas with our family and friends. We've been trying to catch up with friends who are here for the holidays, so it's been busy, but a lot of fun. Christmas Eve was spent over at my dad's house, where we had a nice time opening gifts and eating a good meal. Laney was more interested in the drum set and keyboard than she was in opening gifts. (I really think she's going to be a musician one day.)

Today, after we read the Christmas story and opened gifts with the kids, my mom, brother and sister-in-law came over for a brunch. More eating ... more gifts. Aidan was so excited this Christmas as he got many additions to his train set. He is truly a kid in heaven right now. Laney has taken an interest in many of her toys. We are really working on getting her to identify things (i.e., Laney where's the flower?) and having her point, instead of use her whole palm. She's getting much better at it. Each day we see a little more progress, and it excites us. She's vocalizing a lot, but still no clear words. She's doing more coloring, and not just straight lines, but circles. (Her OT was impressed!)

Only 2 more sessions of OT and 4 more sessions of speech therapy through the state system before she ages out. (Can't believe she'll be 3 in less than two weeks!) We are going to seek speech therapy through the school system, but won't be enrolling her in their preschool right now as it conflicts with her schooling at LDC.

Matt received A's on both his papers!!! I was so proud of him. He has signed up for one class for the winter trimester ... another counseling class. He's enjoying the topic.

That's about it for the Kennedys this Christmas! May God bless you richly as you celebrate with those around you!!
