Here's an update ... finally!

Delaney DRANK MILK FROM A CUP YESTERDAY!!!!! (Very small sips, but we’ll take it!) In order to make this happen, we have to take her plate away and not give her it back until she takes a sip from her cup. Thus, mealtime is a little crazy. We would continue to appreciate prayer in this area – particularly that we stand firm and not give in to her protests. (Along with being autistic, we know Laney has a very strong willed personality that we have to contend with.)

I am still having a very difficult time getting her dressed in the morning (she throws a huge fit). Please continue to pray for wisdom to figure out why this is happening and how to improve this area. She is still having a difficult time sitting down at meal time.

Our school case conference for Delaney went well. They are happy with her progress and we feel she is getting good attention at school. We asked for a Physical Therapy evaluation, just to look at some of Laney’s gross motor skills (running, ball throwing, etc.). We also hope to observe a session of Occupational Therapy and talk to the therapist about getting an increase in services. (They were reluctant on this issue.) We also want to talk to the speech therapist about a few issues. Please continue to pray for a good working relationship with the school system and lots of wisdom for us.

Delaney has started making a few more prompted verbalizations (no words, just sounds). Would you please pray for God to open her mouth and pour forth words?

Aidan will wrap up pre-school in a few weeks. He has done so well this year. Today was a field trip to the zoo, which he was very excited about.

Matt is back to pouring concrete and has had a very busy week. Pray for his body’s adjustment. He is taking two classes, and has a lot of work for both classes. He has completed his time with the church choir. He is now hoping to get into some discipleship role, in addition to leading our small group.

I went to Boston and back for our training seminar my company hosted. My mom was able to go with me and spend time with her best friend, who lives in the area. It rained the entire time we were there! We saw the sun on the day we left. Figures! I continue to be involved in our special needs ministry at church, and I meet weekly with 3 friends for fellowship and study of the book "Battlefield of the Mind". I so look forward to that evening each week.

Okay, enough for now. I'll try to do better at posting!!
